WWE Wrestlepalooza saw superstars put on a great show before the crowd in Indianapolis. The premium live event was loaded with five big matches. However, the maiden ESPN PLE wasn’t void of botches. Moreover, one of them even saw Jey Uso suffering a head injury.
‘The Yeet Master’ had teamed up with his brother Jimmy Uso to face Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker. The tag team match saw the RAW General Manager appoint LA Knight as the special guest referee. This led to a lot of back-and-forth between ‘Mr Yeet’ and ‘The Megastar’.
Despite Jey Uso constantly getting distracted by Knight, he still somehow managed to stay vigilant. However, the final moments of the match saw the former World Heavyweight Champion bust his own head open via a chair shot.
This is how Jey Uso got busted open.
He hit Bron Breakker so hard in the back, that the chair bounced back into his face and bused him clean open.

Notably, Uso struck Bron Breakker so hard with a steel chair on his back that it bounced back and hit ‘Mr Yeet’ in the head. As a result, the WWE fan-favourite started bleeding, allowing Breakker to capitalize and send both The Usos through a table with a Double Spear.
Bronson Reed followed this with a Tsunami onto ‘Main Event Jey’ to win the match. This was a rather unexpected botch where, instead of missing a spot or working with an unsafe opponent, Jey Uso ended up hurting himself while being on the offense.
The Referee Cost Drew McIntyre the Undisputed Championship
The main event of WWE Wrestlepalooza saw Drew McIntyre challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship. The final moments of the match saw ‘The Scottish Psychopath’ in a perfect position to cave in Rhodes’ head through the commentary desk using his finisher, Claymore. However, the referee, Ryan Tran, stopped him from doing so.
The move had notably sent ‘The American Nightmare’ on the shelf for five weeks, the last time it connected with his skull. However, this was an unexpected development since the move is legal. Moreover, the announce desk has been used as a spot for the execution of countless finishers by several wrestlers in every WWE era.
Wade Barrett, who was handling the commentary along with Pat McAfee and Michael Cole, expressed his surprise at seeing the WWE official trying to stop McIntyre. Although ‘The Scottish Psychopath’ went ahead with the move anyway, Rhodes received enough time to move out of harm’s way. This was a big botch since it showcased a lazy storytelling finish to the main event of the night.
Drew McIntyre was seen clutching his right leg after it went through the commentary desk. Without missing a beat, the Undisputed Champion ended things with a Cross Rhodes to retain his title. Notably, referee Ryan Tran cost McIntyre the match twice, as the Scotsman had notably pinned Rhodes down for more than three seconds.
Right before the Scotsman went for the pin, however, Tran had jumped out of the ring to save himself from getting caught between the wrestlers. Thus, by the time he returned and started the count, ‘QB1’ got his shoulders up.
Triple H Was Seen Running in the Background
WWE Wrestlepalooza was kicked off by Triple H, who introduced fans to the ESPN era of WWE premium live events. Shortly after, the camera showed Pat McAfee entering the Gainbridge Fieldhouse arena, ending his long hiatus.
‘The Game,’ who was in the ring just a minute ago, had to join and hug the commentator to welcome him back. HHH decided to make a run for it to reach McAfee on time. However, instead of appearing into focus at the right moment, the WWE CCO was caught running in the background of the frame before he joined Pat McAfee.
This was a rather harmless botch since no rules were overlooked and no superstar got injured. Instead, fans just saw ‘The Game’ working hard to be a part of the PLE. However, the other two botches saw Jey Uso getting seriously injured and Drew McIntyre getting buried yet again, a recurring highlight in his career since the last few years.
Do you think that ‘The Scottish Psychopath’ should have won the Undisputed Championship or at least received a better defeat? Do you think McIntyre will get another shot at Cody Rhodes’ title? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
