ABC’s crime drama TV series High Potential stars many familiar faces. One of them is the actress who portrays Ava Gillory. She is the rebellious teenage daughter of the lead protagonist, Morgan Gillory, portrayed by It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia star Kaitlin Olson.

With High Potential Season 2 all set to premiere on September 16, some of you might be wondering why Ava looks familiar. Amirah J is the actress who plays the teenager, and she already has plenty of acting credits to her name. So, let’s find out where you might have seen her before.

Popular comedy-drama series Shameless has given Hollywood some of its rising stars. For instance, Jeremy Allen White, whose fame saw new heights after he began appearing as Carmen Berzatto in FX’s The Bear.

In Shameless, Amirah J played the funny and resourceful Xan Galvez, Eddie’s (Levy Tran) niece. After Eddie left out of the blue, White’s Lip Gallagher had no choice but to take care of Xan. Slowly, Lip became a father figure to her and even almost asked Xan’s biological mother to sign over her legal guardianship to him.

Xan, a recurring character, only appeared in seven episodes of the series. She ultimately left with her mother, Mercy Galvez. Season 9 marked her last appearance on the original show, although she returned for Shameless Hall Of Shame two years later.

Shameless Hall Of Shame

Shameless Hall of Shame is a one-season miniseries that served as a retrospective of the original series by featuring past scenes of the characters against their present versions. The series aired in the middle of the final season.

Amirah J reprised her role as Xan Galvez in three episodes of Shameless Hall of Shame, which aired in 2021. Each episode of the series centered on one or two members of the Gallagher family. J’s role was not too significant, but it certainly added to her list of credits.

All That is a sketch comedy children’s TV series, which originally aired for ten seasons on Nickelodeon. It featured actors like Kenan Thompson, Amanda Bynes, Jamie Lynn Spears, and Nick Cannon. The show was revived for a new season in 2019 and aired for thirty-four episodes until December 2020.

The new season featured a completely different cast, with guest appearances from some of its past actors. Amirah J appeared in Episode 11 as a character named Margo. That is the only episode she has appeared in in the show, but she stood out for her entertaining performance. The episode also featured a performance from the Jonas Brothers.

The Coroner: I Speak for the Dead

The Coroner: I Speak for the Dead is a documentary series that follows the real-life coroner Graham Hetrick, who has handled hundreds of cases of suspicious deaths. The series presents these deaths through reenacted scenes and features different actors in each episode.

Per IMDb, Amirah J played the role of Young Saliyma in two episodes of The Coroner: I Speak for the Dead Season 3. For those interested, the episodes are Hand in Glove and Wound Patterns.
