HIM, directed by Justin Tipping and produced by Jordan Peele, is an unusual film that blends the psychological and the supernatural with the NFL. As of 19 September 2025, the body horror movie has already been released in the US, with Universal Pictures covering theatrical distribution for the film.
For any wide release, its PVOD access window ranges between 30 to 45 days, after which the film shifts to streaming. Considering the lukewarm reception of Him, it will definitely not linger in theaters for long and is fully expected to be available on platforms with e arly access models a month after release.
When and Where to Watch Jordan Peele’s Latest Film, HIM?
Considering it’s a Universal Pictures movie, HIM will have to jump through many hoops before arriving on streaming. But the truly concerning factor here is the film’s poor critical reception in early reviews. HIM‘s 30% rating on Rotten Tomatoes has condemned the film to a poor theatrical and box office run.
Many other lukewarm Universal projects, like Nobody 2 and The Fall Guy, were made available on digital even earlier than the honorary 30-day window after underperforming at the box office. Nobody 2 was released in theaters on Aug. 15th and on digital on Sept. 2nd, while The Fall Guy premiered on May 3, 2024, and arrived on DVD on May 21st the same year. Both films took 18 days to arrive on PVOD.
Following that timeline, HIM could be accessed on PVOD platforms like Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango At Home by October 7th. Buying the film on early access will cost $24.99, while renting it for 48 hours is tagged at a much lower price of $19.99. 4K Ultra HD versions may cost more than the standard or HD versions.
NBC Universal-owned streamer, Peacock, will host the project exclusively for the first four months after its theatrical release. After that mandated window, the film will move to Prime Video, where it will stream for the subsequent ten months. Following a newly-sanctioned deal between Universal and Netflix, most Universal films will now be available on the streamer, starting in 2027.
All You Need to Know About HIM: An NFL Body Horror Drama
Though neither written nor directed by Jordan Peele, HIM, produced by the Oscar-winning auteur, is carving out a new niche trope within the horror genre. The film ambitiously blends sports drama with psychological body horror, resulting in something that has never been considered or attempted before.
In it, Marlon Wayans plays Isaiah White, an 8-time championship-winning NFL legend who is at the tail end of his career. Meanwhile, a rising star, Cameron Cade’s career prospects come to a standstill after he is attacked and left with brain trauma. White offers to train Cade at an isolated compound, but their mentor-mentee relationship soon changes into something much more evil, sinister, and twisted at the core.
