Jacob Fatu was once pushed to the moon in WWE, but after a couple of strange bookings and bizarre storylines, he lost it all. When ‘The Samoan Werewolf’ made his debut in 2024, under the self-proclaimed Tribal Chief, Solo Sikoa, fans were impressed with him as he ransacked half of the locker room. As a result, fans were hyped to see him when Triple H decided to give him a push and made him a US Champion.
Everyone believed that Fatu was going to be the next big thing in the company, potentially a future WWE Champion. Fast forward to 2025, his career has fallen off track ever since Paul Levesque made him a face. Truth be told, the former US Champion lost his raw intensity, making him lose his wild and chaotic identity. As a result, fans started questioning the hype behind him. Check out the tweet below:

If booking him poorly and making him a face was not enough, the CCO decided to put him in awkward storylines, where he was showcased as a mere henchman for Solo Sikoa’s Bloodline 2.0. This looked off to the viewers, where Fatu, being a champion, is doing the bidding of Solo Sikoa.
WWE put the final nail in the coffin of his WWE hype by switching the focus from him to Sami Zayn, who is now the current US Champion after defeating Solo Sikoa.
The Aftermath of Jacob Fatu’s Upsetting Loss to Solo Sikoa

Jacob Fatu and Solo Sikoa were once a cohesive unit who had helped each other on numerous occasions, but WWE decided to slowly drive a wedge between them. Cracks started to show in their relationship in mid-February 2025, when a fuming ‘Samoan Werewolf’ confronted Sikoa. But their relationship was shattered in the ugliest and most shocking manner.
During the 2025 Money in the Bank match, Fatu cost Sikoa the opportunity to win the Men’s MITB briefcase, screaming, “I HATE YOU!” and then sending him through a steel ladder (via YouTube). Their tension led them to a match at Night of Champions 2025; Solo Sikoa ended Jacob Fatu’s reign as the US champion, with a little help from his MFT’s Talla Tonga.
This led to them facing off against each other for the final time at SummerSlam 2025 in a Steel Cage match for the coveted US Championship. The match was subpar, as it failed to resonate with the violent and unforgiving nature of the match, especially when both men had such a fierce rivalry between them. To make it even worse, it featured an unnecessary segment following Fatu’s upsetting loss.
The loss felt absurd, but more importantly, it stripped him of his natural appeal. He was once considered a walking disaster and is now hardly a crowd-pleaser.
Our Verdict on How WWE Can Revive Jacob Fatu’s Hype

There’s no denying that Samoans shine the brightest when they are heels in WWE. For instance, Roman Reigns struggled as a babyface, but once he became a heel, he changed the scene, leading to the greatest storyline in the company’s history. Likewise, Triple H and his creative team should start drafting a major storyline involving Jacob Fatu becoming a heel again.
This would ensure that ‘The Samoan Werewolf’ focuses on himself, not allowing any distractions coming his way, keeping him laser-focused on the prize. Since he has been constantly involved in a feud against Solo Sikoa and his MFT. WWE should focus on bringing Sikoa and Fatu inside the squared circle one last time so that they conclude their rivalry, where the latter should become the winner.
The win will be immensely important for Fatu, as it will help him to tie up the loose ends around his old rivalry and then give him a major push for the US title. With Zayn being one of the hottest names in SmackDown, putting ‘The Tribal Wolf’ in a storyline would lead to a heel vs. face classic, hyping the fans as they watch the two great talents give their all for the championship.
