Tom Holland has dropped some details about Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and it’s driving the fans absolutely giddy with excitement. In a recent interview with Complex (via X), the 29-year-old actor revealed how his old pals and Spider-Man predecessors influenced his fourth solo MCU outing:
I really like the idea that he’s trying to be his big brothers, that he looks up to them and he sees little details on their suits that he thinks are really cool, and now that he is making his own suit and isn’t part of this bigger team.
Despite going their separate ways in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Holland’s comment proves that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield‘s Spideys will have still left a strong impression back in Earth-616.

Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day Creates a Problem for Avengers: Doomsday
One of the few things that snagged the Marvel fandom’s attention was the glaring absence of Tom Holland in the cast setlist of Avengers: Doomsday. The ensemble saga is the first Avengers movie since Endgame, and not having such an intrinsic member of the team in the film can only mean two things.
First: With Doctor Strange’s spell having wiped all memory of Peter Parker, he has not found a foothold with the Avengers in their upcoming fight against the big bad. Without trust and camaraderie, it will be difficult for Holland’s hero to prove himself once again, the way he did when Tony Stark was alive.
Second: Under Stark’s tutelage, Peter Parker had all kinds of advanced technology and armored weaponry that one could imagine. Even if he were to join the Avengers, without such suits, it would not be possible for Spider-Man to get involved in an intergalactic space war, if it ever came to that.
In reality, however, Holland’s absence in Doomsday could be due to a simple scheduling conflict. With Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Doomsday filming simultaneously, it will be logistically impossible to get the actor to do both films, considering their vast scale.
Perhaps, in fair compensation, the Russo Brothers have a bigger role in mind for Tom Holland in Avengers: Secret Wars. Or better yet, his role is being kept a secret from the fans, only to be revealed when Doomsday premieres.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will premiere in theaters on 31 July 2026.
