Also known as Gianna Jun, Korea’s talented actress Jun Ji-Hyun has been happily married to her childhood friend Choi Joon-hyuk since April 13, 2012. Apparently, her husband is a successful banker and grandson of the legendary hanbok designer Lee Young-hee and the son of fashion designer Lee Jung-woo.

Their journey began early as the two have known each other since they were kids. Later in the years, the pair reconnected through a mutual friend, which eventually blossomed into romance. Ji-Hyun and Joon-hyuk officially got married at Seoul’s Shilla Hotel, and they were joined by over 600 guests, including celebrities and dignitaries.

It’s been more than a decade since Jun Ji-Hyun and Choi Joon-hyuk had their happily ever after. While fans of The Legend of the Blue Sea star knew her husband came from a prominent fashion family, it was also revealed that they had known each other since their school days.

The festivities welcomed 600 guests, including stars like Lee Young-ae and Cha Tae-hyun. Their marriage was officiated by Justice Minister Kwon Jae-jin, and singer Lee Juck serenaded the couple. Reportedly, Ji-hyun wore a Reem Acra gown worth US $9,000 while walking down the aisle and later changed into a traditional hanbok crafted by her grandmother-in-law. For the press appearance, she wore a Jenny Packham dress, per Style.

Though their wedding was first set for June 2012, the couple moved up the date to accommodate Ji-hyun’s filming schedule for Berlin. At the time, she also clarified that they don’t have any plans for children and postponed their honeymoon due to work commitments.

Is Choi Joon-hyuk an Actor?

Well, no, Choi Joon-hyuk is not an actor; rather, he has a successful career in finance and business. After working at Bank of America’s Seoul branch as the head of its derivatives division, Joon-hyul joined his family business, Alpha Asset Management, in 2019.

A year later, Joon-hyuk became the CEO of the company and eventually the largest shareholder. Ever since he took over, Alpha Asset Management has made bold investments, including purchasing around 35 billion won worth of Wemade shares across late 2023 and early 2024. However, with the stock price dropping to about 25,000 won from highs of 63,887 won, the firm is now facing paper losses of nearly 15.8 billion won, per VN Express.

Despite that, Alpha continues to roar with over 1 trillion won in assets, standing strong in Korea’s financial sector. Now, 44, Joon-hyuk only aims to expand the family’s legacy while his wife, Ji-hyun, shines on screen with her upcoming thrilling show, Tempest.

How Many Kids Do Choi Joon-hyun And Jun Ji-Hyun Have? 

Choi Joon-hyuk and Jun Ji-hyun are proud parents of two kids. While the couple got married in 2012, they welcomed their first son in February 2016. At the time, Ji-hyun was busy wrapping her hit drama My Love From the Star and also received global fame. However, she kept her pregnancy private while filming Assassination.

And three years later, in January 2018, the couple announced the happy news again and welcomed a healthy baby boy at the maternity clinic in Seoul. Ji-hyun’s agent, Culture Depot, confirmed the news sharing (via Korea JoongAng Daily)

Now, the parents of two have continued to balance their personal lives while also sustaining their respective careers.
