Tatiana Maslany has reportedly called for a boycott of ABC, Disney+, ESPN, and Hulu after the network suspended Jimmy Kimmel’s talk show over comments about Charlie Kirk’s assassination. Taking to her Instagram story, Maslany reportedly posted an image of her in a mo-cap suit for She-Hulk and urged her followers to cancel their subscriptions (via Deadline).
Maslany, who played the eponymous character in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, a Disney+ series from Marvel, has been speculated to be a part of the studio’s upcoming biggie, Avengers: Doomsday. While there have been no confirmations regarding her appearance, her recent comments against her possible employer may not put her in their good books.
Marvel Stars Remain Mum About Jimmy Kimmel’s Suspension
The suspension of Jimmy Kimmel’s talk show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, after his comments about the divisive opinion on Charlie Kirk’s alleged assassin has divided the nation. While the FCC’s Brendan Carr supported the decision, several celebrities have come out in support of Kimmel and have criticized the suspension as a First Amendment issue.
Actors and comedians have expressed their support for Kimmel on social media, with some even endorsing a boycott of the network ABC, its parent company Disney, and its subsidiaries like ESPN, Hulu, Disney+, and more. Actors like Tatiana Maslany, Ben Stiller, and Jean Smart, as well as creators like Damon Lindelof, have stood up for Kimmel (via EW).
Apart from Maslany and Marisa Tomei, other Marvel stars have seemingly been silent about the situation. Most of these stars, like Robert Downey Jr., Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, and more, have made frequent appearances on the talk show. However, no statement has come out from them after the show’s suspension.
Most Marvel actors seem to be busy with the filming of Avengers: Doomsday, which will be the culmination of the Multiverse Saga, and will be released on December 16, 2026.
Tatiana Maslany’s She-Hulk Has More Reasons to Be Left Out of Doomsday
Tatiana Maslany may have just shown herself the door from the MCU after advocating a boycott of Disney+, Hulu, ESPN, and ABC. The actress made sure to remind fans of her time on Disney+ as She-Hulk in the show She-Hulk: Attorney at Law by posting a photo of her in a motion-capture suit from her time filming the show.
While Maslany’s presence in Avengers: Doomsday had only been theorized by fans after the actress skipped out on a Comic Con appearance due to ‘filming commitments’, the character’s fate may have been sealed even before she supported a boycott of Disney platforms.
A year ago, the actress had mentioned that the show had blown its budget in season one, and it was unlikely that She-Hulk would return for a season 2 (via Forbes). Since she was a completely CGI character, it did not financially make sense to continue. With Avengers: Doomsday already getting several CGI characters and stars, it might not be feasible again.
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law was also the subject of several trolls and bad reviews upon release, with many criticizing the CGI and the ‘woke’ content. It might just be that She-Hulk is not popular enough to get a slot in Doomsday. So, there might be several reasons for Maslany not to be included in the movie apart from her boycotting Disney+.
