SISU: ROAD TO REVENGE is everything a revenge flick should be: fun, intense, and impossible to look away from. It doesn’t try to be anything more than it is, and in that simplicity, it excels. pic.twitter.com/QMvYd80lRw
#SISURoadToRevenge is a big step up from the first movie. It’s like a road trip right into Hell! More carnage, more laughs…and Stephen Lang as the villain always is a win. This was the perfect movie to see with a festival crowd and I’m rejuvenated for week 2. #FantasticFest2025 pic.twitter.com/QA8ABK3PMw
Sisu: Road to Revenge is the perfect sequel. It takes everything that was great about the first film and cranks it up to insane levels—bloodier, more brutal, and more chaotic than ever. Jorma Tommila’s Aatami Korpi mows down bad guys one by one, and there’s a stunt so wild the… pic.twitter.com/MvL3SyrGiY
Well, with the sequel cranking up the antics to insane levels, the road to revenge is bloodier and bolder. But… why is he on the road to revenge, exactly?
What is Sisu: Road to Revenge About?
Being a direct sequel to the 2022 film, Sisu: Road to Revenge, takes us back in the footsteps of the man who refused to die. After returning to where his family was brutally murdered, Aatami Korpi (Jorma Tommila) picks up the entire house and transports it to another place, hoping to remain there in peace.
However, the Red Army discovers Korpi’s arrival, and Igor Draganov (who had killed his family) takes it upon himself to finish the man once and for all. Of course, the story is quite intriguing, and the first reactions are justified.
Despite the fame and acclaim that the sequel has gotten, it still has quite a difficult task ahead of it: To beat the original movie that started it all.
Sisu Has Already Set a High Bar for the Sequel
Back in 2022, when the original film was released, it was a sleeper hit with critics and fans praising the film’s bloody brutality and the need for vengeance shown in the film.
In fact, the film turned out so good that critics gave it a rating of 94% on Rotten Tomatoes after its release! The film also received an iconic rating of 88% by fans on the scoring website.
If the sequel aims to beat the original, it would have to prove its worth by scoring a higher rank on Rotten Tomatoes as well as IMDb. Of course, the first reactions of the film seem to hint at a positive rating and worldwide acclaim upon release.
