Rainbow Six Siege X Year 10 Season 4 Leaks: Thatcher Rework, Fortress Update, and More

Rainbow Six Siege X’s future updates got leaked in detail thanks to credible leaker 6Leaks. To kick things off, Ubisoft appears to be continuing its push to rework legacy operators who are underperforming, this time focusing on Thatcher. Additionally, we might receive a reworked Fortress and return to the ranked pool as well.

But that’s not all. Leaks also suggest a new primary weapon is coming to multiple operators, as well as a special Halloween event map slated for Year 10 Season 3. With so much on the horizon, let’s break down everything we know so far.

1. Thatcher Rework

Ubisoft has been reworking a lot of legacy operators who have been underperforming even after balancing changes. Similar to Tachanka, Blackbeard, and Clash, next up in line is Thatcher. Like all the recently reworked operators, Thatcher’s EMP grenade will be changing. The gadget can be seen in the form of a charm, which will likely get dropped during the Year 10 Season 4 reveal panel.

From its design, the gadget resembles a fusion between a flash grenade and the head of the classic EMP grenade. Based on speculation, it might function similarly to Tubarao’s Zoto Canister, sticking to surfaces after being deployed. Another possibility is that it could act as a deployable gadget, creating a disruption field within a set radius for a limited time.

2. Fully Reworked Fortress

Fortress faced a lot of backlash after being introduced with Operation Wind Bastion. Lorewise, the map holds a lot of value, but now it’s only reduced to a map in the Unranked pool. However, that’s likely going to change with Year 10 Season 4, which is getting a full rework and looks better than ever.

A large part of the complaints has been around the traversal flow of the map. It’s the only map with two floors and extremely broad with narrow visual range, making it extremely short-range focused. With the rework that’s changing, making each area more accessible and even promoting long-range battles.

Also, one of the biggest problems with the old Fortress map was the lack of a door to enter, making it a defended side in most cases. In most cases, players would have to vault in, making entries slower than usual.

Additionally, it had too many corners to check, which was infuriating. One of the main examples is the main entrance, which has only one large door that can be countered from multiple angles. The open area has been revamped as well, making it easier to spot players on higher ground, making it much more risky for both sides.

The revamped Fortress seems primed to deliver a smoother, more competitive experience by removing unnecessary nooks and crannies. If done right, it could earn much more praise from players than its original iteration.

3. New Mystery Weapon Addition

Rainbow Six Siege X has been rolling out new weapons with Year 10, and will continue till the end of it. With Season 4, there are rumors that another weapon will be added to the game and given to multiple operators, similar to Rauora’s secondary and Gonne-6. This design choice could shake up the game’s meta in a big way, giving both veteran and underutilized operators fresh loadout options.

This leak is particularly interesting because the weapon is expected to be shared across multiple operators, rather than being exclusive to a single newcomer. Ubisoft has been cautious with primary weapons for years, often recycling existing ones across new operators instead of creating entirely new additions. If this rumor holds, Season 4 could mark a rare and significant shift in Siege’s weapon philosophy.

4. OG Event

Year 10 Season 4 marks the decade milestone for Rainbow Six Siege X, and Ubisoft is reportedly preparing something nostalgic for longtime players. According to leaks, the upcoming season may feature the return of classic maps in their original form, before they were reworked.

The list of potential throwbacks includes House, Consulate, Kanal, Hereford Base, and more. For veterans who have been around since Siege’s early years, this could be a trip down memory lane, offering a chance to relive the chaotic fun of the original layouts. The only thing needed would be Jager and Doc having their ACOG back during the event.

Other Upcoming Changes Coming To Rainbow Six Siege X

While there are a lot of new things coming with Rainbow Six Siege X next season, there are some more unplanned additions. Here’s what you should know.

New Doktor’s Curse Map (Clubhouse)

For a long time, Ubisoft has been giving the same map, reworking old Theme Park for years. Extinguishing the excitement around the event completely, but that is seemingly changing as Ubisoft is bringing a Clubhouse with a Halloween theme.

The map reportedly brings major layout adjustments to keep gameplay fresh. For instance, the Basement has been narrowed, reducing defensive strongholds, while the Strip Club room has been removed entirely, eliminating one of the trickier hiding spots. On top of that, extra exterior staircases have been added, giving attackers more entry points and shaking up the flow of matches.

One odd inclusion in the test build is the presence of fire pipes scattered throughout the map. It’s unclear if these are just placeholders or if they will play a functional role in the limited-time mode. Since Doktor’s Curse traditionally involves melee-focused gameplay without firearms, their integration feels unusual, but could also point toward Ubisoft experimenting with new environmental mechanics to keep the mode fresh.

Another Paragon Skin

Paragon skin has met a lot of controversy ever since it was debuted for Valkyrie. However, Ubisoft isn’t seeming to stop there and is working to release another one. It’s unknown which operator will be getting it, so only time will tell. On the brighter side, Goyo is receiving his deserved Elite skin for his excellent usefulness for entry denial.

Those will be all the leaked changes that might arrive in Rainbow Six Siege X in the near future. Which change are you looking forward to the most? Share with us in the comments below.
