Potion, Waga Mi o Tasukeru, also known as Potions Will Save Me, is a popular Japanese fantasy novel series by Akira Iwafune. It will soon be getting an anime adaptation, and it has recently announced the addition of three new cast members.
Yū Kobayashi has been cast as the female wolf Cardeno, Miharu Hanai as the fairy Nina, and Yurika Moriyama as the dragon hunters’ leader Rei. Moreover, the other two cast members, already confirmed, include Kaede Hondo as protagonist Kaede and Takeo Ōtsuka as dragon hunter Asuru (via Anime News Network).

Potion, Waga Mi o Tasukeru, or more commonly known as Potions Will Save Me, is a popular Japanese fantasy isekai series that began as a web novel before blossoming into light novels and a manga.
Authored by Akira Iwafune with illustrations by Sunaho Tobe, the story has won fans with its quirky blend of everyday charm and magical escapism. It follows Kaede, an ordinary high school girl who unexpectedly awakens in a fantastical world teeming with elves, beast-people, and dragons.
Along with her belongings, she discovers that she has a mysterious book that lets her conjure potions with a single chant: “Create.” With it, she must navigate this strange realm and hopefully find her way back home.
First published from April 2014 to September 2024 via the Japanese novel self-publishing website Shousetsuka ni Narou, Imagica Infos, a Japanese publisher, started publishing in print edition from April 2015 onwards. It has 10 volumes to date. Moreover, it also has a manga adaptation by Hero Comics. The manga was launched in September 2023 and currently has 15 chapters.
When Will Potion, Waga Mi o Tasukeru Premiere?
The official YouTube channel for the Animation ID project recently released a teaser trailer for the anime adaptation. Over 30 seconds long, it also revealed the premiere date for the adaptation. The ‘light animation,’ produced by Imagica Infos and Imagework Studios, will debut on October 2, 2025, on Tokyo MX at 25:00 JST.
Mikiko Furukawa, known for directing Moriarty’s Perfect Crime, will be directing the anime, and animation support will be provided by Studio KAIBA. Moreover, the creative team includes composer bermei.inazawa, sound director Yūichi Imaizumi, and production supervisor Kazuya Takahashi (via Anime Wonder).
