Marvel Rivals Switch 2 Port Rumors Refuse to Die as Fans Look to NetEase

The rumors of the Marvel Rivals Switch 2 port have been around for months, and it’s refusing to go down without an easy conclusion. This NetEase creation has managed to gather a huge fanbase, and ever since it got released for PS4 earlier this month, players are even more convinced that a port for Switch 2 is now possible.

Now more than ever is the best time to port Marvel Rivals to Switch 2, as the title is running on a hot period right now. While thousands of players are currently active on the existing platforms, imagine the increase in the volume of players when the game is introduced to Nintendo’s flagship hardware. This thought process is something that’s been driving hopeful speculations of a Switch 2 port for a long time now.

Here’s Why Marvel Rivals Isn’t on Switch 2 Yet

The clearest and most practical reason why Marvel Rivals isn’t out on Switch 2 yet is the lack of resources. To release the game on Switch 2, NetEase will require a development kit to assess the hardware and optimize the game accordingly.

Now, despite showing interest time and time again, Nintendo hasn’t provided the necessary kit to NetEase to date (via VideoGamer). Hence, we haven’t heard anything about this port from the official sources. Even if the developers had received the hardware and development kit, they could have announced something to create hype.

Once NetEase secures the necessary resources from Nintendo, it will take them months to fine-tune the game for Switch 2. Since there are various technical limitations on the board, it’s only important to take their time, or else Switch 2 users might experience lags and stutters when the game launches for their platform.

Will Marvel Rivals Ever Come to Switch 2?

Frankly, it’s not confirmed whether Marvel Rivals on a Switch 2 handheld will be possible in 2025. However, from a commercial point of view, this release is imminent for NetEase, as they might not want to miss out on such a big opportunity. The only thing holding them back is the unavailability of resources; otherwise, we might already have seen an official announcement.

Switch 2 is a very capable hardware, and it can meet the standards of Marvel Rivals‘ visual bars. Not only that, but it can also offer a decent performance output with low latency. Hopefully, the two gaming giants will meet in the middle and find a way to port the game to the world-renowned handheld soon.
