Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 Episode 10 Ending Explained: Defense Force Feels Ready to Face Kaiju No. 9

The battle between Kaiju No. 9 and the Defense Force of Japan has finally begun, and many side characters took the center stage in Kaiju No. 8. From Kikoru using Numbers Weapon 4 to Hoshina taking down a horde of Kaijus, almost every major soldier of the Defense Force feels ready to face the threat that has been looming over their country for a long time.

However, the one person who still looked doubtful about his powers and responsibilities was Kafka Hibino, the protagonist of Kaiju No. 8. The tenth Episode of Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 was a special one because it brought us one step closer to the conclusion. Having said that, Kafka’s uncertainty might turn out to be a major problem for the Defense Force later on.

The Last Battle Against Kaiju No.9 Has Finally Begun

Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 Episode 10 was a thrilling adaptation, as it started with a horde of Kaijus appearing all over Japan and thus posing a threat to humanity. It was automatically understood that this kind of planned attack can only be executed by Kaiju No. 9, the main antagonist of the series. However, the heavy hitters of the Defense Force took charge and defeated almost every major Kaiju that was attacking their region.

It started with Gen Narumi saving a wedding and ended with Mina Ashiro pointing a gigantic weapon towards humongous Kaijus that were causing death and destruction. The episode basically focused on Division 1 and Division 3 as they handled the attacks in Tokyo, and even though they felt outnumbered, they still managed to assert dominance against the first wave.

However, it was quite evident that the threat had only just begun, and things were going to get even more difficult from there on. The entire country relies on them, and the Defense Force has to be ready for the next wave, which will be even more threatening. The next Kaiju No. 8 Episode might give a glimpse of what the second attack from Kaiju No. 9 will look like.

Kafka Might Still Have Some Doubts About Himself

It is safe to assume that this might be a major defining moment for the Defense Force and the entire Kaiju No. 8 Season 2. However, Kafka still having doubts about himself after everything that has happened does not bode well for his character development within the series. Although he tried to face the gigantic Kaijus, he still hesitated to transform, and thus, Mina had to step in, and the Episode ended on a cliffhanger.

The entire second season has revolved around Kafka having second thoughts about his Kaiju No. 8 transformation. And the fact that it is still going on highlights his inner conflict between embracing the monster within and holding onto his humanity. While this self-conflict makes his journey even more compelling, it shouldn’t be focused so much, especially during the final moments of the season.

Kaiju No. 8 has done a great job until now, and hopefully it will continue to do so for the next Episode as well. Kafka’s complexity might be the focus of the final Episode, and him overcoming that doubt could work really well as a conclusion.
