Haunted Hotel has taken over the animated landscape with its spooky and comedic ride and thrill. At the time of writing this article, Netflix has yet to announce the second installment of this horror-comedy. The expectations for Season 2 are very high, with viewers waiting to see what new things the story will explore.
Created by Matt Roller, who has also served as the writer for Rick and Morty, the show is based on the themes of family, relationships, growth, and identity. Lending their voices to characters, Eliza Coupe (Katherine), Will Forte (Nathan), Skyler Gisondo (Ben), Natalie Palamides (Esther), and Jimmi Simpson (Abaddon) have done fantastic work. The stars have brought the animated characters to life in a 10-episode show.
What to Expect from Haunted Hotel Season 2
There are many arcs that the show might explore in the potential Season 2. One of the characters, Katherine, is the most prominent to be scouted for. In the episodes released, Katherine struggles to entertain human guests as the hotel’s antics do not allow it to happen.
The probable season can show Katherine struggling to keep up with the maintenance of the hotel. Apart from this, the current season explored her love life with Joel, but it did not conclude.
Nathan, who dies by s-icide, isn’t aware of his ‘unfinished business.’ He is a happy-go-lucky guy; therefore, once the business is set and Katherine finds her true peace, he may move on.
Each character has their own arcs to be explored. Ben’s relationship with Anabelle remains uncertain towards the end. Esther, who is a chaos-starter, yet a mindful character, has her own resolve to move on with.
Abaddon, who has spent years gaining powers, chooses family over everything. His unexpected sacrifice makes him a hero. With so many stories to be told and questions to be answered, Haunted Hotel has plenty of room to expand in a second season.
Haunted Hotel Season 2: Expected Release Schedule
Given that Netflix has yet to decide on the renewal, this question depends on the studio. If they’ve started working on the project, the tentative date of release for Haunted Hotel Season 2 might be late 2026 (via What’s on Netflix, published September 19th, 2025).
If not, the viewers can expect the probable new season to air in 2027. The demands from the fans of the show, along with the lingering questions and unresolved arcs, might force the Netflix Animation Studios to revive the new season a bit early.
Animated shows require over a year to return, especially with detailed and intricate visuals and voice work. Therefore, if the fans could wait patiently, the brand new season might knock on the doors anytime soon!
