Amazon’s God of War TV series is finally making progress, and along with it, we’ve gotten a new leak about which actor we could be getting for the role of Kratos, the protagonist. A new report from trusted insider John Campea has revealed ten possible contenders, and two familiar faces lead the fan hype.
Jason Momoa and Christopher Judge are probably the two most talked-about names, but both of them come with unique strengths and challenges. With filming scheduled to begin in Vancouver in March 2026 (via Nexus Point News), we’ll find out soon enough. Who will wield the Blades of Chaos in Amazon’s adaptation?

According to John Campea, Amazon is looking for an actor who embodies both the physical presence and emotional depth of Kratos. We should note that Campea has been known to provide accurate scoops in the past, such as his reports about Spider-Man: No Way Home and Keanu Reeves’ role as Shadow in the Sonic franchise.

- Christopher Judge
- Manu Bennet
- Jason Momoa
- Travis Fimmel
- Oliver Ritchers
- Dave Bautista
Among the names leaked, two stand out for very different reasons. Jason Momoa seems to fit the role physically and could bring a familiar mix of rugged charm and ferocity, but will the actor be able to give it his full focus, given his potentially busy schedule with major franchises?

On the other hand, Christopher Judge remains a fan-favorite despite concerns about his age and health. The actor who portrayed Kratos in the 2018 and 2022 video games underwent multiple surgeries that even delayed the development of the second game. His voice and gravitas make him irreplaceable, but it might be interesting to see if he is able to tackle the physical load of a live-action project.

The stakes are massive for this adaptation. The God of War series is not only one of PlayStation’s most acclaimed franchises but also one of its most narratively rich, making it an integral part of Sony’s push into TV.
