Where Is the Whistler’s Maw in Borderlands 4

Before embarking on the journey to find this Auger Mine, make sure you have completed the Shadow of the Mountain quest. This is the 11th story mission in the game’s campaign that, upon completion, unlocks access to the Auger Mines, including the Whistler’s Maw. Upon completing this mission, you can use the following directions to find the entrance to this area:

Once you have entered the cave, you will find a passage that will take you to huge hall-like caves containing multiple Manglers. You can easily avoid them and move forward with your exploration. While exploring the cave, you will eventually come across a snowy area. Follow this area as it will take you toward the cavern of the Shadowpelt.

Defeating the Shadowpelt will liberate the Whistler’s Maw from its tyranny and advance your progression.

How to Beat Shadowpelt in Borderlands 4

Just like the Axemaul in the Toil of Spoiling Vis, the Shadowpelt is a Mangler with unusual abilities. This creature can go invisible in the middle of the fight and have you confused about its whereabouts. Thankfully, you will be able to spot this enemy from its slightly visible aura in the air if you look carefully at the screen.

During its invisible state, a blue health bar will appear on the screen. After dealing decent damage to Shadowpelt and reducing its blue health bar to zero, it will become visible again. This is when you will be able to deal immense damage with your overpowered weapons. But beware, this enemy can prove to be extremely fatal if you don’t have a proper response to its moves.

For your reference, we have listed down the moves used by Shadowpelt and how to counter them in the table below.

We recommend that you recharge your armor before going into this fight. Since Shadowpelt will stop at nothing to annihilate you, it’s only wise to take some extra protection. Moreover, make sure to refill your ammo, too, as you will need it to shoot and bring back Shadowpelt to its original form.

Frankly, this boss’s invisibility is the only major challenge that you will face. Apart from that, there is nothing so dangerous about this Whistler’s Maw boss in Borderlands 4. Anyway, once you have defeated it, you will receive 40 SDU Tokens and a bunch of other weapons, some even belonging to the legendary rarity.

After completing Whistler’s Maw, we suggest you take out the Voraxis in Timid Kyle’s Neglected Opening. This is another Auger Mine found in Kairos that will take you a step closer to the ‘Who’s the Boss?’ trophy.
