Well, this deal means a lot to Warner Bros. and Netflix also because the entertainment company will have to give up a lot of projects if the agreement takes place.
What This Deal Means for Warner Bros.
Well, for starters, if Netflix does acquire Warner Bros, it would mean that the streaming giant would choose to focus on streaming rather than theatrical releases because that is essentially what Netflix is.
With the alleged deal, Netflix would have untapped potential at the vast network of IPs and libraries that Warner Bros. is sitting on, including Harry Potter, DC Comics and Movies, and HBO Shows.
This could potentially mean that Netflix’s creative ways will be implemented in every project that Warner Bros. is working on, and Netflix will have the final say in what goes on their streaming site. Speaking of streaming, Warner Bros. will have to give up HBO Max and other streaming platforms if the deal between Netflix and the David Zaslav-led studio.
Warner Bros. Will Have to Give Up on HBO Max for the Deal
There’s a big elephant in the room when the deal between Netflix and Warner Bros. is put forth, and the name of that elephant is HBO Max. Being an exclusive streaming service for Warner Bros. Discovery, DC movies, and other iconic IPs and flicks, HBO Max is a giant streaming company and a direct competitor of Netflix.
If the deal is to be made, Netflix will surely merge its streaming services with those of HBO Max, and the account owners will likely be transferred into Netflix’s database.
This means that the world might have to say goodbye to HBO Max, along with a change in Warner Bros. Discovery’s creative and financial direction. Of course, this remains speculation at the moment as the world holds its breath and waits patiently for what could be the business deal of a lifetime.
