“He gives me the creep”: Princess Diana’s Reported Feelings for Donald Trump, Who Wanted to Date Her

The late Princess Diana had many admirers lining up at her door, and it seems like Donald Trump was one of them. However, while he reportedly pursued her, the princess wasn’t all too fond of the now-President of the United States and his reported interest in her.

According to former BBC presenter Selina Scott, Diana reportedly became concerned by Trump’s unwanted advances and his persistent gestures. This included her receiving enormous bouquets of roses and orchids and personal notes, which kept arriving at her apartment. In fact, Scott even recalled that Diana had confessed to her about Trump (via BBC and Marca):

He gives me the creeps.

Of course, finding the attention deeply inappropriate despite her royal composure, Princess Diana reportedly confided in Scott and sought advice on how to politely distance herself. The BBC presenter, in response, advised her to simply throw the flowers away, which proved to be a suggestion that the princess took seriously.

Donald Trump Called Princess Diana “A dream lady” but Denied Any Romantic Interest

While reports have it that Donald Trump has been pretty interested in Britain’s Royal Family for quite a while now, one royal who especially captured his interest was reportedly Princess Diana.

In fact, even in his second book, The Art of the Comeback, the president wrote that his only “regret in the women department” was that he never had an opportunity to court Lady Diana Spencer. Adding to this, he also gushed in praise of her, pointing out how she “lit up the room” and even went as far as calling her “a dream lady“.

Per former BBC presenter Selina Scott, he reportedly also tried to date Diana after her divorce from then-Prince Charles in 1996, viewing her as “the ultimate trophy wife.” Plus, shortly after her death in August 1997, Trump claimed that he could have slept with the late princess in a 1997 interview with the radio jockey Howard Stern.

However, around two decades later, in 2016, Trump denied that there was any romantic interest between him and Diana. He emphasized that he just thought her to be “lovely,” and that was that (via BBC).

Royal Insiders Claim Princess Diana Felt “Uneasy” Around Donald Trump

If Princess Diana’s own reported comments about Donald Trump and his apparent pursuit of her aren’t enough, there are even royal insiders who claimed that the late princess felt “uneasy” around the now-president.

As reported by RadarOnline.com, a palace insider claimed,

There are certain subjects that are completely off limits. Diana confided to friends that Trump made her feel uneasy, and the palace has had to knock down claims he spread about ties between himself, Charles, and Diana. However polished things may look today, that history still lingers in the background.

That’s something worth noting, since Trump recently had his second state visit to Britain, arriving at Windsor Castle for an unprecedented second full state welcome from King Charles III, complete with a red carpet ceremony and a lavish banquet.
