Ghost of Yotei Leak Teases the Return of Bloodborne’s Iconic Pistol Parry

Ghost of Yotei comes out in less than 2 weeks, and we’ve gotten a new look at the achievements and trophies of the game. But among the new leaked list, there’s a hint of something that Bloodborne players will recognise. The iconic pistol parry from FromSoft’s magnum opus.

Sucker Punch has a lot of expectations to fulfil with the release of the sequel to Ghost of Tsushima, and this really hypes us up even more. We can’t wait to see what the pistol parry looks like. If you were a fan of the pistol parry in FromSoft’s gothic masterpiece, it might be reborn in a fresh samurai setting when Ghost of Yotei launches this October 2.

One of Ghost of Yotei’s Achievements Hints at The Iconic Pistol Parry

From all the leaked trophies and achievements for Ghost of Yotei, we’d like to point your attention to one in particular. The achievement From The Hip with the requirement, Perform a Pistol Parry during a Standoff. This strongly suggests that Atsu, the game’s protagonist, can use her guns not just to attack, but also as a way to parry enemies. Guess where we’ve seen that before.

The way parrying worked in Bloodborne was that you fired a gun at the exact moment an enemy swung for their attack. This would stagger them and leave them open for a Visceral Attack. The fact that Ghost of Yotei references a “Pistol Parry” directly implies that Sucker Punch might give us something similar.

You might want to do the New Zealand method to get in early. Anyway, this just adds to our hype for the game, and we can’t wait to dive in. Will you be playing Ghost of Yotei when it comes out? Let us know in the comments!
