Gen V Season 2 premiered with three new episodes on Prime Video on September 17 and has already raised several questions. One of them is Marie’s sister, Annabeth’s whereabouts. Aunt Pam revealed to Marie in Season 2, Episode 3 that Annabeth does not live with her anymore. This could mean that Annabeth is either left on her own or that she has been abducted by someone
The upcoming episodes are expected to reveal where Annabeth really is. In the meantime, let’s delve into the possibilities of her whereabouts.
Gen V Season 2: Where Could Annabeth Possibly Be?
With Annabeth no longer at Aunt Pam’s house, there are a couple of strong possibilities about what might have happened to her. The most concerning theory is that she has been taken by Vought-American or Godolkin University to be used in secret experiments tied to the Odessa Project.
The Odessa Project was Vought’s covert attempt to alter human DNA from birth, with Marie Moreau being the only confirmed survivor. Because Annabeth is Marie’s biological sister, she shares the same genetic makeup, which could make her incredibly valuable to Vought’s scientists. They may believe Annabeth has the same potential to manifest Supe abilities, seeing her as either a backup subject or a way to replicate their rare success with Marie.
Another place where Annabeth could possibly be is the vault at Dean Cipher’s house. At the beginning of the season, Dean was determined to find Marie. He did not intend to stop until he found Marie. Once she returned to Gondolkin, he made sure that she understood how special she is.
His willingness to reveal the real reason behind Andre’s death only reinforced the idea that Dean knows far more than he lets on. If Dean was so determined to claim Marie, it’s not a stretch to imagine that he might also see Annabeth as valuable, either as leverage against Marie or as another potential test subject connected to the Odessa Project.
Gen V Season 2: Why Did Annabeth Distance Herself from Marie?
In Gen V Season 1, Annabeth, Marie, and their parents were seen as a happy family. Marie’s ability to control blood first came to light when she got her first period. In her panicked state, she accidentally killed her parents. Annabeth seems to have held Marie responsible for their parents’ death and decided to leave her on her own.
Marie did not learn about Annabeth’s initial whereabouts until Season 2 Episode 3. When Marie visited Aunt Pam, a friend of her parents, to see if she could find something about the Odessa Project. Like Annabeth, Aunt Pam also seems to hold a grudge over Marie for her parents’ death.
During her time at Aunt Pam’s place, Marie found a room full of Annabeth’s things. This suggested that Annabeth had left home to live with Aunt Pam, and had been doing so for quite some time. Marie was reasonably mad at Aunt Pam for not telling her that Annabeth was living with her. Aunt Pam reasoned that Annabeth did not want to talk to Marie, which also made sense.
