Gal Gadot and Jason Momoa Have a Message for Their Superman Henry Cavill During His Tough Times

After reports claimed Henry Cavill had sustained unspecified injuries while training for Highlander, the actor took to Instagram to post a health update. Following the post, his fellow Justice League members reunited in the comments section with thoughts and prayers.

Cavill posted two photos on his social media account, which boasts over 28 million followers. In the first photo, the actor is chilling on his couch, sporting his long hair. Behind him, his dog Baggins sat comfortably.

Next, Cavill shared a photo of his leg showing his foot wrapped in a cast. Instead of explaining the situation in the caption, he opted to go for a powerful poem by William Ernest Henley, Invictus.

Jason Momoa, formerly Aquaman now Lobo, commented on Cavill’s post, stating, “Sorry bro. Get some much deserved rest. ❤️” Gal Gadot, too, wrote a short yet sweet comment for DC’s ex-Superman, “Feel better 🙏.”

While not a member of the Justice League, Shazam! actor, Zachary Levi, also left his thoughts in the comments section, stating, “Oh nooooooo! Heal up fast, man! 🫤🙏“.

What Henry Cavill’s Injury Means for the Upcoming Highlander

The Highlander reboot will follow the adventures of Connor MacLeod (Cavill), who embarks on a journey where he must face the other Immortals, Kurgan included, and emerge victorious for the Prize: all the power of all the Immortals who ever lived.

It was reported that due to Cavill’s injury, the filming of Highlander will have to be pushed back a bit. While it was supposed to commence this fall, it might kick off early next year. The release date for the reboot is yet to be announced, though it’s expected to come out in 2027 or 2028.

So far, Russell Crowe, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, and Marisa Abela have been cast in the film. Reports claim that Max Zhang and Djimon Hounsou are also a part of the star-studded ensemble.

Henry Cavill Teases Highlander, a Film with John Wick-Like Action

During his appearance at CinemaCon in Las Vegas earlier this year, Cavill made some promising remarks about the highly anticipated reboot. Starting off strong, the actor teased, “If you thought you’d seen me do sword work before, you haven’t seen anything yet” (via Deadline).

Moving on, Cavill added that he loves the original Highlander movies and admitted that he was a little skeptical about the script at first. He spoke candidly,

I’m a lover of the original movies, for better or for worse, and it’s one of those things where when I was reading the script for the first time I wasn’t quite too sure where they were going to go with it.

However, as time goes by, Cavill couldn’t be happier with how things are going. He even stated that while the original films “touched on the lore“, the reboot will be taking things further. His words: “my goodness me oh my, we are going deep into these characters.

Co-star Bautista also had some promises to make about the reboot in an interview with Collider. He said that the film is going to be “so much bigger than the original“, and that “the action is on par with ‘John Wick’. Those who have seen the four John Wick films know this is not an easy promise to make!

Bautista confidently added that people will be blown away by the Chad Stahelski-directed film and would have no idea what’s coming their way, even if they have seen the original and are familiar with MacLeod’s story.
