This is a matter of concern for millions of players around the globe, as this title has already been delayed several times in the past. No official announcement has been made by the officials; however, it just gets difficult to avoid the possibility of it.
GTA 6 Being Delayed to October 2026 is Just a Rumor
Currently, Rockstar aims to release the game on its announced date, which is May 26, 2026; however, strong rumors of another delay are surrounding the air. As we said, nothing is official yet, so it’s nothing more or less than a rumor. That being said, you shouldn’t completely rely on it, but rather take it with a grain of salt.
In case you are wondering, the rumors originated from an episode of Insider Gaming Weekly on YouTube. In this video, Tom Henderson, a reliable source for various leaks and rumors, stated that he isn’t seeing GTA 6 releasing in May 2026. He adds that there are some “rumblings” in the industry, so a second major delay can be looming on the horizon.
Although this is purely just a speculation from Henderson, this is truly concerning for the fans of this series. On a different note, it should also be brought to notice that this isn’t enough to officially report a delay. Hence, we should all be patient and wait until the next Investor Call meeting by Take-Two Interactive concludes. For now, it’s scheduled to happen sometime in the next two months (via RockstarIntel).
Rockstar Is Confident About GTA 6‘s May 2026 Release
While the rumors of another delay are raising concerns among the fans, a new ray of hope has emerged out of nowhere. According to a popular YouTuber, Luke Stephen, Rockstar is pretty confident about GTA 6‘s release on May 26, 2026. Almost nothing at this point can change the release window, unless something huge happens.
In his video, Luke Stephen said that he has a reliable source in the publishing side of the industry, who is also pretty “high-up.” He simply says that the guys in the developer team are confident.
