Elvis and Priscilla Presley’s Relationship Through the Years

Elvis and Priscilla Presley’s relationship dates back to the time when the young Priscilla Beaulieu met the 24-year-old Elvis Presley in 1959 at a party in West Germany. Priscilla Presley was just 14 at that time.

Before this meeting, Elvis Presley was already a star. When she was 11 years old, Priscilla Presley heard his first record at an Air Force base in Austin, Texas, and was instantly drawn to the singer’s voice.

Talking about the same, Priscilla Presley spoke about her early memories of Elvis with TODAY, saying,

Everyone had a crush on him. They’re still having crushes on him. He was truly beautiful. He woke up beautiful. I used to stare at him. I used to look at him and go, ‘Oh my gosh.’

Priscilla Presley even recalled how the Hound Dog singer met her parents, who interfered with their relationship. Priscilla Presley even relocated to Memphis, Tennessee, for her education so that she could also be with Presley.

As the charmer he was, he took her parents in faith, leading up to the relationship that soon turned into a marriage in 1967. Just nine months into the marriage, the couple was expecting their first child.

Things went south after this. Presley recalled how Elvis Presley struggled to process fatherhood, which strained their relationship. Eventually, the two went their separate ways as tension escalated.

Elvis Presley did not remarry (he remained engaged), and Priscilla Presley no longer felt the need to pursue another marriage. Even after their divorce, the two maintained a close, friendly relationship.

There have been documentaries and films on the life of the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, which moved both his ex-wife and their daughter to tears.
