Singer D4vd is involved in an ugly scandal after a dismembered body was identified from his Tesla car, which was found in a tow yard. The body was identified to be that of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, who was reported missing in April 2024. Reports now emerge that he has reportedly canceled the rest of his U.S. tour.
The singer was on tour to promote his new album. A day after the remains were found, D4vd performed in Minneapolis as part of his tour. He was all set to perform in Los Angeles this weekend. This event and a Grammy Museum appearance next week were removed from the singer’s website. TMZ reported that all remaining dates on the tour were also cancelled.
A spokesman for the singer earlier told NBC that he is aware of the body in the car. They shared, “He is fully cooperating with the authorities.” Most recently, the police searched the Hollywood Hills home belonging to the singer on Wednesday night.
According to ABC7, D4vd was present at his home when the LAPD searched the premises. However, TMZ reported that the LAPD detectives walked out of his home with a computer and several evidence bags.
According to the BBC, the LAPD received a call on Monday, complaining about a “foul odour coming from a vehicle” at a tow yard. The Tesla was towed from the Hollywood Hills area after it was abandoned five days earlier. It had a Texas license plate. It did not take too long to identify that the vehicle belonged to D4vd.
Interestingly, a car chase video of LAPD pursuing a murder suspect went viral on X, after streamer xQc claimed it was that of D4vd. However, it was not D4vd in the video. As of writing, there are no charges filed against the singer.
Disturbing Details Emerge About Alleged Connection Between D4vd and Celeste
Fans unearthed alleged videos of a girl whom they claim to be the murder victim, Celeste, seen with D4vd. They brought up a video from the singer’s Twitch stream, where a girl is spotted beside the singer. They were convinced that this girl was Celeste Rivas. Fans even pointed out how the girl in the video wore the same jacket as that of Celeste’s missing persons photo.

However, no official sources have confirmed the authenticity of the video. Some fans claimed that the girl in the video was Celeste Herrera, another 23-year-old girl who was friends with D4vd. This brought up another wild theory about D4vd’s obsession with girls named Celeste.
It was alleged that he brought in Herrera after killing Hernandez. They alleged that he gave Hernandez’s jacket to Herrera. They even alleged that he intended to use Herrera as an alibi when things went badly for him.

In another video footage, a girl in pink pants and a black hoodie can be seen accompanying D4vd’s brother backstage after his show on June 27, 2024. Some fans allege that the girl, who also has curly hair, was Celeste.

Another controversial finding by X users revealed D4vd’s alleged Discord communication with an account called ‘Celeste’. Screenshots showed chats dating back to 2022. In one of them, D4vd wrote in his community, “celeste in here??” and the account replied, “HI DAVID BARKKK.”

In a previously unreleased demo titled Celeste_Demo unfin, which leaked in 2023, D4vd wrote in his lyrics: “Oh, Celeste / The girl with my name tattooed on her chest / Smell her on my clothes like cigarettes” (via @Patrickdgenius_ / X). Another unsettling line in the lyrics reads, “Afraid you’ll only love me when undressed / But you look so damn gorgeous in that dress.”
Fans also claimed that some of the girls in the music videos of his songs resembled Celeste (via scorpiana/X). Streamer xQc found a weird coincidence in the case. He claimed that multiple songs of D4vd were released on September 7. He found out that the victim in the case had her date of birth on September 7, 2010.

It was also reported that Hernandez and D4vd have the same “Shhh…” tattoo. With no official confirmation tying D4vd directly to Celeste’s disappearance or death, these claims remain speculative.
What Do We Know About Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s Case So Far?
The body found inside D4vd’s Tesla was dismembered into several pieces and was heavily decomposed. It was wrapped inside a plastic bag in the front trunk of the car. LAPD initially confirmed that the human remains found inside D4vd’s Tesla belonged to a woman. According to the Los Angeles Times, police found a head and torso inside the bag.
The Medical Examiner’s Office in Los Angeles shared that the dismembered body was of a 5ft 2in female, weighing 70 pounds. The body reportedly had wavy black hair, and the woman was wearing a tube top and black leggings. The body also had a tattoo on her right index finger, which read, “Shhh…”
It was later confirmed that the body belonged to Celeste Rivas Hernandez. She was reported missing from Lake Elsinore. The vehicle, a 2023 Tesla Model Y, had been seen parked across various Hollywood Hills streets over the past few months (via NBC Los Angeles). Authorities believe the body was placed in the trunk roughly five days before it was towed (via Fox 11 LA).
TMZ earlier reported that Celeste’s mother recognized her daughter from the missing-persons poster circulated by Riverside County Police. She reportedly identified the body by a tattoo and even revealed that her daughter had a boyfriend named David. It should be noted that D4vd’s legal name is David Anthony Burke.
