Daniel Radcliffe Was 10 Years Younger than Timothée Chalamet When He Bagged $25 Million Salary for Harry Potter Movie

Timothée Chalamet might be getting paid $25 million for his upcoming film with James Mangold, but Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe did it much before.

The New York Times published a new report discussing David Ellison’s plans as the new owner of Paramount Global. Where does Chalamet fall in his reported plan for the company? According to the Times, he’s planning an action heist film that will reunite the actor with A Complete Unknown director, James Mangold.

For the film, Chalamet is expected to cash in a huge check worth $25 million when all is said and done. The project is said to be High Side. Moreover, Paramount might be expanding its slate to 20 movies a year instead of eight.

As for Radcliffe, he made quite a few million dollars during his time as Harry Potter‘s leading actor. According to Celebrity Net Worth, the actor made $1 million on Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. His earnings only increased with time, and he was eventually paid a combined $50 million for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Parts 1 & 2. Radcliffe’s net worth is currently reported to be $110 million.

Daniel Radcliffe Felt Guilty for His Harry Potter Salary

Instead of being over the moon about all the money he made as Harry, Radcliffe felt a bit guilty about it all. Before we get into why, let’s take a look at the actor’s reported salaries for each film, via CNW:

So, why exactly did Radcliffe feel guilty about all the zeroes on his paychecks? Talking to Parade in the past, the actor revealed that he didn’t think he deserved all that money.

I got paid so well for doing the Harry Potter films, it’s ridiculous. If somebody asked me, ‘Did you think you deserve that money?’ No, of course I didn’t. ‘But would you have taken it anyway?’ Of course. I happened to have found this industry where people get paid stupid amounts of money. That’s the reality. I feel almost guilty for having done so well out of Potter‘.

As a die-hard Potterhead, the films and books have been a part of so many magical childhoods, and the franchise hasn’t lost its spark, despite the controversies surrounding it. The truth is, Harry Potter is eternal, and Radcliffe shouldn’t feel guilty about his earnings at all.

Timothée Chalamet’s Major Earnings and the Time He Donated His Entire Paycheck

Chalamet’s net worth is reported to be $25 million (via CNW) in 2025, making him one of the youngest millionaires in Hollywood at the moment. If the reports about High Side are true, Chalamet must prepare himself for a positive change in his net worth.

Till then, let’s take a look at how much he reportedly made for some of his major films so far, starting off with Dune.

The Dune films have perfectly showcased Chalamet’s talents, and it’s only fair if he got paid fairly for his role. As per Cosmopolitan, he was paid $2.2 million for the first film and $3 million for the sequel. With the third instalment on the way, it’s possible that he makes even more. The outlet reports Chalamet made $9 million for Wonka and $4 million for A Complete Unknown.

In 2019, Chalamet starred in Woody Allen‘s A Rainy Day in New York, but due to the resurgence of the abuse allegations against him, he donated his entire salary to three charities – RAINN, Time’s Up, and the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center in New York City. Selena Gomez, Griffin Newman, and Rebecca Hall also donated their salaries to different charities.
