Confidence Queen Season 1 Episode 5: What to Expect and Next Target Spoilers

The hit K-drama Confidence Queen is quickly becoming a must-watch series, and Episode 5 is expected to push the stakes even higher. Scheduled to air on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 9:10 PM KST on TV Chosun and streaming via Coupang Play in Korea (and Amazon Prime Video internationally), the next installment continues Yi-rang’s con artistry while peeling back the layers of her painful history.

So far, the drama has kept fans hooked with its clever scams and elaborate schemes. Having a pretty layered character dynamic that gets interesting with each episode, things are bound to get even more intense for the trio.

Starring Park Min-Young as Yoon Yi-rang, Joo Jong-hyuk as Myung Gu-ho, and Park Hee-soon as James, the trio offers compelling chemistry with ample heartfelt comedic moments. However, the drama is more than just comedy and cons, for at its center, we have Yi-rang whose traumatizing past keeps coming up with each job.

In Episodes 3 and 4, Yi-rang and her team targeted art critic Yoo Myung-han, exposing his fraudulent dealings in the art world. That arc revealed how far Yi-rang is willing to go to exact justice through trickery. Now, Episode 5 shifts the focus to a brand-new target while deepening the mystery behind Yi-rang’s past.

Yi-rang, James, and Gu-ho Will Target a Doctor in the Next Episodes

As we saw in the promo for the upcoming episodes, the con team, Yi-rang, James, and Gu-ho, have their eyes set on a doctor or somebody who works in the medical field. Also starring kdrama royalty, actress Kim Sun-Young, potentially as the director of a hospital, things are bound to get interesting in the upcoming episode.

Unlike the previous targets, this new victim adds a fresh layer of tension because the team must infiltrate a space that carries both moral weight and societal trust. Doctors are often viewed as untouchable figures of authority, and this makes the con even riskier than before.

Episode 5 Will Reveal More About Yi-rang’s Tragic Past

While we can expect the fifth episode to deliver more unexpected twists and another high-stakes game of deception, we might also see more about Yi-rang’s tragic past.

So far, we know from the previous episodes that all three of them are related or have known each other since childhood. While Gu-ho was kidnapped, it was James who found young Yi-rang unconscious in the mysterious mansion, as we see in flashbacks.

Given how her potentially heartbreaking backstory is at the center of the show, earlier episodes have already hinted at her troubled past. Since we see Yi-rang visiting the mansion at the end of Episode 4, followed by James unbeknownst to her, we can expect more such fleeting moments of vulnerability beneath her confident exterior.

Episode 5 may also reveal some or hint at the emotional scars that shaped her into her current self. These revelations will likely not only humanize Yi-rang further but also explain her motivations for targeting powerful figures.

The balance of emotional storytelling and thrilling schemes is one of the show’s biggest strengths, and viewers can look forward to Episode 5 deepening that blend.

Now that the upcoming two episodes are near release, what are you most looking forward to seeing the most: another delectable and satisfying con job or more about our confident lead’s haunting and mysterious past?

Confidence Queen continues its 12-episode run with new episodes airing every Saturday and Sunday at 9:10 PM KST on Prime Video until its finale on October 12, 2025.
