According to the exclusive reports from the New York Times, Charlie Kirk was present at Utah Valley University, talking to students during an event. He was reportedly talking about transgender mass shootings as part of the “American Comeback Tour.”

The 31-year-old was sitting in his stand, debating with a member present in the large crowd. Moments later, he was briefly seen clutching his neck and then collapsing from his chair, eventually passing away. President Donald Trump shared the tragic news using the official X account of the White House (@WhiteHouse). Watch the video below:

In the same report from the NY Times, the university’s spokeswoman stated that the shooter targeted Mr. Kirk from the Losee Center, which is around 200 yards away from the U.V.U. Fountain Courtyard.

Did the Officials Identify the Prime Suspects Behind Charlie Kirk’s Shooting?

Following the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk, the authorities led a manhunt and detained two individuals. According to NBC News, George Zinn was the first suspect, but after hours of investigation, he was released and charged with obstruction by the authorities at Utah Valley University.

Another suspect that was detained by the cops was Zachariah Qureshi, but after hours of interrogation, the cops were forced to set the other culprit free as well. The hunt continues, and Kash Patel, the FBI director, posted on X:

The assassination has drawn reactions from various political figures, where Spencer Cox, the Governor of Utah, said in a press conference that they will not rest until they find the person behind this vicious crime. (via NBC News). He said,

This is a political assassination. I want to make it crystal clear right now to whoever did this, we will find you, we will try you, and we will hold you accountable to the furthest extent of the law.

Nevertheless, the authorities are yet to find the name(s) behind the shooting, leading to more political conversations and pointing fingers at each other.
