In Boruto, Naruto Uzumaki is the seventh Hokage and the father of Boruto. After years of hardships and facing countless ordeals, he had finally become a hero for everyone. Yet, the world was plunged into darkness once again, and Naruto lost Kurama when he activated Byron Mode to battle Isshiki Otsutsuki.
But even without Kurama, Naruto is a formidable fighter. He might have grown weaker, but he isn’t weak enough to be a dead weight. Naruto still has plenty of techniques under his belt, and here are the most deadly abilities he can still use despite the absence of Kurama:
Six Paths Sage Mode
Naruto gained access to the Six Paths Sage Mode due to the power bestowed on him by Hagoromo Otsutsuki. In this mode, Naruto’s physical attributes and techniques become augmented to the point where he can dodge attacks that move at the speed of light. This mode also empowers his sensory abilities ,and he could even sense the invisible shadows of Limbo and deflect the Truth Seeking Ball of Madara.
This power can also be combined with Kurama’s chakra to achieve a mode that can rival Sasuke’s Complete Body Susanoo. However, due to Kurama’s absence, this state can no longer be used, but Naruto still benefits from the Six Paths Sage Mode.
Shadow Clone Technique
The Shadow Clone Technique is the very first technique that Naruto learnt to master. Although he failed at it constantly as a kid, he studied the Scroll of Seals and learnt to create shadows on a massive scale. From then on, Shadow Clone became one of Naruto’s signature techniques for both serious and comedic purposes.
Even without Kurama, Naruto can still access his high chakra reserves to create hundreds of shadow clones. He can use them to outnumber or deceive his opponents. He can also use his clones to speed up his training regime. As a Hokage, Naruto can still use this technique on a massive scale for prolonged periods to help with his daily duties.
Wind Release
Naruto has a natural affinity towards Wind Release, something he learnt from Asuma Sarutobi. He used his shadow clones to add his elemental nature to the Rasengan. His training process was peculiar as one shadow clone helped from the Rasengan while another provided Wind Chakra, and together they created Wind Release: Rasengan and Wind Release: Rasenshuriken.
Two years down the road. Naruto became skilled enough to form a Rasenshuriken without the help of any clones. He could even throw it in his base form. This was a feat that he could only achieve while using Sage Mode or Kurama’s chakra previously. But he was able to overcome his boundaries.
Six Paths Senjutsu
Naruto gained access to the Six Paths Senjutsu, which allows him to have he ability of flight. He can also manifest up to nine Truth Seeking Balls in this stage. He can mould these balls into plenty of shapes and even fire them as projectiles while controlling them from a distance.
He is able to use this technique due to his abnormally high chakra reserves, and even without Kurama, Naruto should have no problems entering the Six Paths Senjutsu stage.
Healing Powers
Due to his Six Paths Senjutsu, Naruto can utilize all five nature transformations. He can also use the Yin Yang Release. He can make perfect use of the Yin and Yang Release to revitalize life forces. It allows him to heal anyone he touches and even restore their missing organs.
Access to The Tailed Beast Chakra
During the Fourth Great Shinobi War, he became a sort of Ten-Tails Jichuriki in essence. This connection to the beasts allows him to interact with them. Kurama acted as the central regulator for the shared space and chakra. He shares a fragment of the powers that grant him several special abilities, and he has also formed a unique bond with the other tailed beasts.
This is why Naruto can use techniques like Magnet, Boil, and Lava Release. It is because of his affinity for the beasts that he can use so many nature transformations.
Magnet Release
Magnet Release is a nature transformation Kekkei Genkai that uses a combination of wind and earth. Naruto can also make use of Magnet Release by incorporating Shukaku’s cursed seal marlings and chakra into Sage Art: Magnet Release Rasengan. It is because of his connection to Shukaku.
When this sphere hits an opponent, the markings from Shukaku spread across their body and immobilize them. Their movements are sealed completely. Even without Kurama, Naruto can use Magnet Release pretty easily.
Lava Release
Naruto can also use Lava Release by incorporating the chakra of Goku, the Tailed Beast, with his own Wind Release. This creates the Lava Release: Rasenshuriken. He gained the ability to use this after receiving the chakra from the Tailed Beast during the Fourth Great Ninja War.
Naruto has been using this technique ever since then to access the lava element. This powerful attack creates a nucleus with a superheated core, which can cause the blades of Rasenshuriken to emit steam. It is strong enough to even bisect the Ten-Tails and destroy Delta’s legs.
Boil Release
Naruto can use Boil Release after he gained access to it as a Jinchuriki or Kokuo, the Five-Tailed beast. He demonstrated its usage during his battle against Kagura, and it can dramatically increase his speed and strength. He used Boil Release: Unrivalled Strength, which gave him a temporary boost in physical capabilities. This allows Narto to overpower his opponents in a close-quarters combat setting.
Naruto is also able to enhance his shuriken with Boil Release and Sage Chakra. This combination creates extremely damaging attacks that inflict tremendous pain on his targets.
Sealing Jutsu
Naruto can use Fuinjutsu or Sealing Jutsu to some extent. He possesses a bit of natural aptitude for it since he is an Uzumaki clan member. The Uzumaki Clan is known for their sealing jutsu, but they were wiped out before Naruto could learn any of it. However, Naruto was able to rework the seal on the Nine Tails, which means that he is able to understand and manipulate the sealing technique even though it is complex.
However, the lack of exposure to his heritage left Naruto underdeveloped. Naruto performed a powerful seal on Kurama, which means that his innate capabilities are still working.
