Arrowhead’s CEO, Shams Jorjani, has teased a beloved feature from Destiny for their upcoming game. We are talking about the social hubs space station feature, the one known as the Tower in Destiny 2, from where the players can interact with each other and buy/sell exotic gear. Thanks to the screenshot posted from the official Discord Server on a Reddit post, this news came into the light recently.

If the tease from Jorjani is true, and if Arrowhead’s player base keeps on increasing, the social hubs can prove to be a transformational change in the developer’s ecosystem.
How Social Hubs Can Help Arrowhead’s Next Game?
A social hub, like in Destiny 2, acts as a common place for the Guardians (players) to meet. Not only can they find others in the multiplayer landscape, but they can also interact with NPCs to undertake side quests and objectives. Apart from this, it is also a marketplace where merchants come to sell weapons and armor pieces of different rarities.
Long story short, the social hub is a place where every player will pay a frequent visit during their playthrough. Since the developer has already managed to accumulate a hefty number of players through Helldivers 2, it goes without saying that their next time will attract a huge volume of consumers from their existing player base.
This most requested feature will help Arrowhead’s future IP to channel all the players in one place, making it easier for them to interact with one another. As the name suggests, it will help them engage socially and create a squad in the most unexpected way. While most players think that the social hub feature will be a part of Helldivers 3, this might actually not be true.
Shams Jorjani hasn’t confirmed whether the social hubs will be a part of Helldivers 3. He just mentioned it will be added to their next game, and it will most likely not be a Helldivers game. All we can do is wait for an official announcement from Arrowhead Game Studios.
Everything We Know About Arrowhead’s Next Game
As of now, the details about the upcoming Arrowhead game are scarce. However, what we know about their next project (via GameRant) so far.
- Their next game is currently known as “Game 6,” and it will go under development this year with a small team.
- Game 6 will be fully funded and developed by Arrowhead, and it’s not a Helldivers game. Since the Helldivers IP is owned by Sony, the chances of it being on the developer’s radar are less.
Now that we know that a Helldivers 3 is still years away, it can either be a Magicka or Gauntlet sequel from the gaming giant. Both of these titles were developed by Arrowhead, and following the footsteps of Helldivers 2, they might want to revive these long-dormant franchises, too.
