We’re talking everything from swoony rom-coms and dark thrillers to buzzy documentaries and the return of fan-favorite series. It’s basically a genre buffet, and the hardest part will be choosing what to hit “play” on first.

So whether you’re planning a solo binge or a weekend watch party with friends, there’s plenty to keep you glued to the couch. Here are all the new movies and TV shows this week across the three biggest streaming giants.

Netflix

1. Beauty in Black Season 2 – September 11

Tyler Perry’s addictive Netflix drama Beauty in Black is back for Season 2, and the stakes have never been higher. After shocking everyone by marrying Horace Bellarie (Ricco Ross) and stepping into the role of matriarch, Kimmie (Taylor Polidore Williams) is no longer the underdog; she’s the queen of a billion-dollar beauty empire.

But in Perry fashion, power comes with enemies at every corner, and this season promises cutthroat betrayals, toxic alliances, and family drama that makes the boardroom feel like a battlefield. Returning faces like Crystle Stewart, Debbi Morgan, Richard Lawson, and Charles Malik Whitfield only add fuel to the fire, as loyalties shift and secrets threaten to bring Kimmie’s empire crashing down.

Packed with glossy production, deliciously messy drama, and the kind of plot twists you’ll be texting your group chat about, Beauty in Black Season 2 is the ultimate guilty-pleasure binge when it drops September 11.

3. You and Everything Else – September 12

Netflix’s new K-drama You and Everything Else is about to wreck us, in the best way possible. Headlined by Kim Go-eun and Park Ji-hyun, the series follows Ryu Eun-Jung, a drama writer, and Cheon Sang-Yeon, a film producer, whose friendship has always been a mix of love and rivalry.

Fast forward to their 40s, and fate throws them back together under the most gut-punching circumstances. Sang-Yeon is battling terminal cancer and asks Eun-Jung to be there as she faces the end. Directed by Jo Young-Min and written by Song Hye-Jin, this 15-episode story isn’t just another tearjerker; it’s a raw and slow-burning dive into envy, regret, and what it really means to show up for someone when it counts.

4. aka Charlie Sheen – September 10

Netflix’s aka Charlie Sheen is about to blow the lid off one of Hollywood’s wildest stories. Directed by Andrew Renzi (Pepsi, Where’s My Jet?), this two-part documentary dives headfirst into Sheen’s meteoric rise, infamous downfall, and hard-won sobriety, with Sheen himself narrating his chaos-filled journey.

Expect unfiltered honesty about everything, from his crack-fueled escapades and HIV diagnosis to his notorious “tiger blood” years. The doc is stacked with voices from his inner circle, including Denise Richards, Jon Cryer, Sean Penn, Brooke Mueller, Chris Tucker, Chuck Lorre, and even his former dealer, all piecing together the legend and the man behind it.

Beyond the tabloid headlines, Sheen reveals shocking truths (yes, even the same-sex encounters and drug binges), but also his softer side, like the $26 million he quietly donated to charity. Dropping September 10, aka Charlie Sheen, isn’t just a rehash of scandal; it’s a raw redemption story you won’t stop talking about.

1. The Wedding Banquet – September 8

Paramount+ is serving up a fresh, laugh-out-loud yet heart-tugging rom-com with The Wedding Banquet (2025), and it’s the remake we didn’t know we needed. Directed by Andrew Ahn, it is a queer reimagining of Ang Lee’s classic.

It follows Min (Han Gi-chan), a gay Korean man scrambling to fix his visa status, who strikes a deal with his friend Angela (Kelly Marie Tran) to marry her in exchange for helping fund her partner Lee’s (Lily Gladstone) IVF journey. Seems simple until Min’s grandmother (the legendary Youn Yuh-jung) shows up and throws an extravagant Korean wedding banquet that turns their plan into total chaos.

With Bowen Yang, Joan Chen, Kelly Marie Tran, and Lily Gladstone all in the mix, the film blends cultural identity, chosen family, and generational expectations into one beautifully messy, heartfelt celebration. Premiering September 8, The Wedding Banquet isn’t just a rom-com; it’s a love letter to family and finding joy in the chaos.

Hulu

1. Only Murders in the Building season 5 – September 9

Season 5 of Only Murders in the Building is finally here, and it’s bigger, bolder, and twistier than ever. Our favorite true-crime trio, Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short), and Mabel (Selena Gomez), are back in the Arconia, but this time the case hits way too close to home. When Lester, the building’s beloved doorman, turns up dead, the podcasters find themselves tangled in a mystery that pulls them deep into Manhattan’s underworld.

Think mobsters, shady billionaires, and suspicious neighbors who might be hiding more than they let on. The new season kicked off on September 9 with a triple-episode drop, and fans can expect fresh episodes rolling out every Tuesday through October 28.

But what really makes Season 5 sparkle is the jaw-dropping lineup of guest stars. Meryl Streep is back, joined by Renée Zellweger, Christoph Waltz, Téa Leoni, and Bobby Cannavale, making this season feel like a Hollywood-meets-true-crime fever dream. Of course, the chemistry between Steve, Martin, and Selena still steals the spotlight, blending laugh-out-loud comedy with that addictive mystery-thriller energy.

2. Tempest – September 10

Tempest is about to blow up your watchlist, and trust us, you don’t want to miss this storm. Dropping September 10, 2025, exclusively on Hulu, this nine-episode political thriller brings edge-of-your-seat energy that feels straight out of a blockbuster.

Enter Baek San-ho (Kang Dong-won), a mysterious elite agent with secrets of his own, and suddenly you’ve got an explosive duo racing against time to expose a conspiracy that could change the fate of an entire nation.

Add a stacked cast featuring John Cho, Park Hae-joon, Lee Mi-sook, Kim Hae-sook, Yoo Jae-myung, and Oh Jung-se, and you know the vibes are going to be immaculate. With Jeong Seo-kyeong (The Handmaiden) writing and Kim Hee-won (Vincenzo, Queen of Tears) bringing cinematic flair to the direction, Tempest is impossible to look away from.
