Dying Light: The Beast comes with a branching skill tree that lets you level up Kyle Crane with a bunch of upgrades and boosts to help him survive against the horde. While every skill has its use, we’ve found that certain abilities like Active Landing, Dash, and many more just can’t be skipped out on.
To help you out, here’s a complete list of the 10 best skills in Dying Light: The Beast skill tree that you’ll want to unlock as soon as possible.
10. Active Landing
The parkour system in Dying Light: The Beast is a blast, as it allows you to leap from rooftops, buildings, and more. However, if you miss a jump, you’ll take some serious damage, or even death in some cases. That’s where the Active landing skill can help you. Once unlocked, it will cushion your fall and reduce the damage taken, allowing you to make those escapes from zombies without worrying about any missteps from above.
9. Stealth Expert
Charging into a group of enemies isn’t always the smartest idea in Dying Light: The Be ast
8. Dash
When you’re surrounded by zombies, the Dash skill can save your life. Unlocking it will allow you to run faster as long as you’ve stamina to burn. Just be careful, as not managing it smartly can drain your stamina bar. It’s best saved for those situations where you have a feeling things can go south.
7. Flamethrower
There are only a few things in life as satisfying as torching the undead with the Flamethrower in Dying Light: The Beast. Seriously, this weapon is one of the best ways to deal with them when you’re getting swarmed. Unlocking the Flamethrower skill will allow you to craft this devastating weapon, and once you’ve got it in your arsenal, you’ll never want to use anything else in the game.
6. Dropkick
Want to have some fun while still slaying those zombies? Well, unlock the Dropkick. This is a classic move that lets you perform a double-legged kick that not only deals heavy damage, but also sends your enemies flying back. It’s especially effective on rooftops or ledges, where a Dropkick can send the undead straight to their graves thanks to fall damage.
5. Heavy Lift
Skip the guns and axes, and do something unique with the Heavy Lift skill. it allows you to grab whatever massive objective is in your way, marked with the Beast Mode vision, and throw it towards your enemy. Keep in mind, this does drain your Beast Mode, so don’t go overboard when crushing your enemies to death.
4. Bash
Bash is another fantastic skill to grab in Dying Light: The Beast. With this unlocked, you can push zombies out of your way. It lets you charge straight without anything blocking you or slowing you down. If you pair this with things like Dash and Active Landing, it becomes your get-out-of-jail card, and no one will be able to touch you regardless of what happens. Once again, be careful not to use your entire Stamina for this skill.
3. Efficient Fighting
You can get a bunch of weapons in Dying Light: The Beast for shutting down whatever the undead throws at you. The issue is the fact that whenever you fire that rifle or swing your axe, your weapon will take some damage, and if that goes on, it will become useless. Of course, you can repair or upgrade them, but another way to get around this issue is by getting the Efficient Fighting skill. It will drastically increase your weapon durability and let you carry your favorites without worrying.
2. Camouflage
A fan favorite skill that has returned in Dying Light: The Beast is Camouflage. This lets Kyle Crane coat himself with zombie remains. Every zombie that’s around you will think that you’re one of them for a short while. However, the effect will automatically end the second you pull out a weapon and strike. Be careful, as the horde will come at you with everything they’ve got, and they won’t stop.
1. Collision Expert
Vehicles are a great way in Dying Light: The Beast to roam around Castor Woods and experience the terror yourself. They’re also perfect for crushing zombies that block your path. However, your vehicle will end up taking damage, and might even explode, leaving you stranded. Unlocking the Collision Expert will reduce the incoming damage, and combining it with the Efficient Driving will give you the ultimate setup
